Fort Worth police search for man who pistol-whipped woman in grocery store parking lot

Police have released two images of a suspect in a violent attack that took place last Wednesday in the parking lot of a grocery store in Fort Worth.

The armed attack happened as the man attempted to steal a car at about 7:15 p.m. in the 8000 block of Crowley Road.

According to a statement from police, a man approached an elderly woman that night as she was putting groceries into her car. 

He struck the woman with a gun when she refused to hand over her car keys and then stole money from her purse. 

Police say a bystander attempted to intervene but backed off when the man said he had a gun. 

Authorities have asked anyone who recognizes the man in the pictures to contact Fort Worth police at 817-392-4382.

According to CBSDFW A Fort Worth officer has been found guilty of aggravated perjury for lying about the events of a beating that took place during an arrest in 2016.

Jon Romer was on trial after being accused of lying to a grand jury about the arrest of Henry Newson at Texas Health Harris hospital. Newson had claimed that Romer never said he was under arrest before he was hit in the face by the officer and wrestled to the ground.

Shooting near Dallas school prompts lockdown at Garcia Middle School and Adamson High School

Two Dallas schools are on lockdown because of a shooting in North Oak Cliff.

The schools are Garcia Middle School and Adamson High School.

The shooting was reported around 9:30 a.m. at an apartment complex near Adamson High School, which is around Interstate 35E and 8th Street.

One young male victim was reportedly taken to a local hospital.

Police are said to be looking for two young male suspects in the area.
